ore
information about Rolfing is available at the website for
The Rolf Institute® of Structural Integration, www.rolf.org
and research on Rolfing and
fascia. An old friend and colleague, Robert Schleip, Ph.D.
along with Rolfer and physiatrist, Thomas Findley, MD PhD initiated the first international conference on fascia at
Harvard in 2007. Their organization’s - Fascia Research Congress has an excellent description of
fascia.
RolfBlog.com is a
blog created for Rolfers and their clients. It is a virtual support group
and community for the million people who were Rolfed or are being Rolfed.
The effects of Rolfing can be beyond what was expected or received from other
therapies. To support this new context, RolfBlog.com was crafted to help explain
what occurs from being Rolfed.
One of the powerful effects of Rolfing is how it removes chronic
stress from the body. Once gone, clients learn how to not
recreate the stress, thereby sustaining their changes from Rolfing.
Altering these old habits is possible with practice. Owen
encourages his clients to use the resources of
StressedOut.org,
a blog he produces on reduction stress.
Media
articles on the subject of Rolfing:
Oprah Winfrey’s Show had a section on Rolfing. Oprah’s interest in holistic health and discovering what works, not necessarily what is traditionally accepted, drove her to explore Rolfing. Rolfing’s recognition for being a state of the art therapy continues to grow; Oprah’s support is only another indication of it. Thank you Oprah for supporting Rolfing!
